The Team at Your Place Physical Therapy

Keeping Sarasota Active & Pain-Free

Meet Dr. Frank Allen

Dr. Allen was born and raised in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He was heavily involved in both club and school soccer growing up. In 2010, he graduated with honors from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and immediately transitioned into their Doctor of Physical Therapy program. After graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy, he began working as an outpatient therapist in the fall of 2013. He has practiced outpatient orthopedic physical therapy with focuses on manual therapy and sport-specific rehabilitation since then. He noticed a concerning trend of poor quality of care at every clinic he was associated with during his time working in traditional insurance-based clinics. The most concerning thing was that no one seemed to think this poor quality of care was concerning except Dr. Frank.
In the fall of 2019, he opened Your Place PT to create a place that active people could receive 1-on-1 and top quality physical therapy services founded on listening, going above and beyond for his clients and being in their corner along every step of their rehab journey. In September 2020, he and his wife moved to Sarasota, where he re-opened Your Place PT and continued working to help Southwest Floridians live happy and pain-free lives.

Why Is Dr. Allen Different?

Simply put - he believes he cares more about his clients and the success of his clients than any other healthcare provider on earth. And he is certain that most, if not all of the thousands of his past clients would attest to this.

Many of his clients express that they have never had an experience with a medical professional like what he provides. He prides himself on his ability to consistently deliver a level of service and results that is unmatched. His clients typically meet him with problems that are limiting their lives, but leave him with hope and excitement for their future. He does this through expert knowledge, palpable passion for his work, along with true personal investment in each one of his clients, treating them as if they were his own family and friends with the highest standards of care.

Why Did He Start Your Place PT in Sarasota?

After 6 years of working in outpatient clinics that clearly did not prioritize the goals and well-being of their patients, he grew tired of being caught up in this environment. The final straw came when upper management told him that he needed to spend less 1-on-1 time with his patients so that he could see more patients per day and make the clinic more money. It was obvious that he was being asked to sacrifice quality care for monetary gain and this was against his values as a healthcare professional.

Seeing multiple patients at once or sending patients to work with a tech or intern significantly impacts the quality of care, the results and the overall experience. Dr. Allen strongly believes that every patient should be treated in a 1-on-1 manner. So, he started Your Place PT - a private physical therapy company where every physical therapy session is 1-on-1 for a full hour.
This yields unparalleled quality of care, results and overall patient satisfaction.

Meet Dr. Cory Hegedus

Dr. Cory is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He went to school at Gannon University for 8 years, earning a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science along with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He was a member of the Gannon baseball team for all 4 years of undergrad schooling. He then transitioned into graduate school and completed multiple strength and conditioning internships during his time, earning his Master’s degree while also becoming a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
As a certified strength and conditioning specialist, he worked with high school, collegiate and professional athletes of all sports. As he shifted over to the physical therapy doctorate program, he moved to Tampa to finish out his schooling and become a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. He found his passion for health and wellness early on while training to compete at the collegiate level athletically and rehabbing an injury of his own. Physical therapy is a healthcare tool which Dr. Cory firmly believes in, and helping to guide others towards reaching fitness and lifestyle goals of their own so that they can lead more enjoyable and healthy lives is a strong motivator for him.
His specialties and experience consist of working with individuals with a wide array of orthopedic issues, sports injuries and high-performance fitness goals. His treatment approach revolves around skilled exercise, extensive education and manual therapy to target any and all ailments, thereby restoring function and decreasing pain. He enjoys spending his free time with family and loved ones or working on his own fitness goals that include CrossFit, weightlifting and running.

Why Is Dr. Cory Different?

There are many physical therapists who allow themselves to fall into a rut of mediocrity due to the standards of healthcare that are currently on display in our country. This is something that never kept Dr. Cory from providing quality and enjoyable healthcare experiences for his patients, despite being required to see multiple patients every hour on a regular basis.
Now that he has joined the Your Place Physical Therapy team, he will be able to focus 100% of his attention on one client at a time, and these results will only be better. His commitment to his patients is personified by his self-imposed motivation to be the best he can be for those patients. When they do well, he is blessed with the joy of playing a large part in that success.

These results serve as a continuous motivating factor for him to provide top-tier experiences and results for every person who gives him the opportunity to do so.

Meet Dr. Paul Seguin

Dr. Paul is a highly skilled physical therapist with over 16 years of experience in outpatient orthopedic, chronic pain and sports performance care. A native of the Chicago suburbs, Paul earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University in 2005 and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Midwestern University in 2008.
Throughout his career, Paul has demonstrated a strong commitment to continuing education and professional growth. He is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through MAPS (Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars), a Certified Manual Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT) in dry needling through Myopain Seminars. He also received certification in Applied Functional Sciences (CAFS), functional tissue transformation (FTT) and 3DMAPS through Gray Institute and certification in instrument-assisted soft tissue massage through Graston. Additionally, Paul has spent the last several years expanding his skill set in vestibular therapy, making him a well-rounded specialist in both rehabilitation and sports performance. He is also a certified clinical instructor through the APTA and guest lectures at universities.
With a particular focus on the overhead athlete, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge in treating baseball players as well as athletes in swimming and racquet sports. He also has a passion for managing complex, chronic pain cases. He has developed expertise in treating vestibular dysfunctions and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Having spent over 12 years working with a sports medicine company, Paul is dedicated to enhancing patient care with a comprehensive, evidence-based approach.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys staying active, spending time with his children on his farm, and continuing to learn in order to provide the best care possible for patients of all ages and levels of activity.

Why Is Dr. Paul Different?

Dr. Paul truly personifies the standard of healthcare that the entire country WISHES every other healthcare provider delivered. In a world where healthcare providers are regularly criticized for not taking the time to truly listen (or just taking time in general), or not putting in the work to develop patient-specific and highly customized treatment plans, or not going above and beyond for a patient regardless of who they are...Dr. Paul provides a breath of fresh air.
When working in traditional therapy settings where the standard is to see 16-20+ patients in an 8-hour day, he still gave his absolute best, day in and day out for years, for each of his patients to provide them with the life-changing results and enjoyable experience they were hoping for. Paul has come to be known for the intense connections he makes with his patients, making lifelong bonds and turning patients into friends, as he doesn’t just treat his patients like he wants to be treated, he treats them like close family.
Now that he is working at Your Place PT, where the unwavering standard is 1-on-1 care with a maximum of 8 patients in an 8-hour day, his ability to deliver unparalleled results and experiences for his patients is vastly improved beyond the level of excellence it already was.
