FAQs About Your Place Physical Therapy in Sarasota

Does Your Place Physical Therapy take my insurance?

At Your Place Physical Therapy, we’ve chosen to operate as an out-of-network provider because it allows us to deliver the kind of care that produces the best results. Insurance-based physical therapy often comes with restrictions that commonly involve little to no time with the physical therapist, doing cookie-cutter exercises that you could just do at home, minimal hands-on treatment that actually moves the needle for relief and progress, a lack of attention to client-specific detail and treatment dictated by insurance rules rather than patient needs. This can lead to generic care and slower or even negative progress.

While we do not bill insurance directly, we provide superbills, or detailed visit invoices, upon request. Many of our patients submit these to their insurance companies and receive partial reimbursement, depending on their out-of-network benefits.

This model ensures you get the highest quality of care, personalized attention, and results that go well beyond the standard covered by traditional insurance-based therapy.

By staying out-of-network, we have the freedom to provide:
  • One-on-one, focused sessions with only a doctor of physical therapy without splitting time between multiple patients or being passed off to a tech.
  • Individualized treatment plans built around your goals, not insurance guidelines.
  • Superior outcomes by addressing the root cause of your problem and preventing future issues.

What is physical therapy, and how can it benefit me?

Physical therapy involves the prevention or rehabilitation of physical compromise. That compromise can come in the form of pain, weakness, limited mobility, loss of balance, poor endurance, abnormal movement mechanics and a variety of more specific conditions.

Anyone seeking to prevent injury and maintain their current level of independence and function would benefit from physical therapy. Anyone already in pain or suffering from physical compromise would also benefit from physical therapy.

What should I expect from my first session?

The first session will be about an hour long and consist of a very thorough evaluation to gather all of the information necessary to begin an effective and long-lasting restoration of your quality of life. Our doctors will then use this information to compile a customized treatment plan consisting of appropriate exercises, education and skilled manual (hands-on) therapies tailored to your individual needs and designed to get you back to living pain-free and doing what you love. The rest of your treatment will be determined by the information gathered during the initial evaluation.

You will not end this first session without knowledge of how to begin feeling or functioning better so you can begin seeing results immediately.

What should I expect from follow-up sessions with a Your Physical Therapy Physical Therapist?

Follow-up sessions will include continued reassessment to fine-tune your treatment plan and achieve optimal progress. Our doctors will implement the best combination of exercise prescription, manual therapy, dry needling, shockwave and patient education needed for you to get the results you are seeking. We also make ourselves available between visits as needed to answer any questions and help guide you.

How long will each physical therapy session last?

You can plan on all sessions lasting about 60 minutes and 100% of that time will be with a doctor of physical therapy.
